OU Looks Like Top Team In Win Over TU

Posted: Updated:

OU entered Saturday's game as the number one team in the country.  Nothing changed after the Sooners destroyed Tulsa 47-14 in Norman.

To TU's credit, the offense did put up 400 yards of total offense, lead by QB G.J. Kinne's 271 passing yards and two touchdowns.

But OU answered the bell, and then some, accounting for 663 total yards of offense.  Walk-on RB Dominique Whaley stole the show for the Sooners, gaining 132 yards on 18 carries.  He scored four touchdowns.

QB Landry Jones was impressive as well, connecting on 35 of 47 pass attempts for 375 yards and one touchdown.  That one TD went to WR Ryan Broyles, who caught 14 passes in all for 158 yards and that one score.

The Sooners get a week off before heading to face Florida State on September 17th.  The Golden Hurricane play its second-straight road game Saturday, at Tulane.

Kickoff for Tulsa and Tulane is set for 2:30PM.
