American Airline Workers Concerned Over Jobs, Union Takes Action

Some American Airline workers are concerned the company could move hundreds of jobs to Dallas. Today they showed a new sign of support

They created signs that said, "Help Save Tulsa Jobs." It was a simple message-from a frustrated group of workers--afraid they could lose their livelihood.

"Those guys are very frustrated, they call on a daily basis do we have any answers? and we cannot give them answers

the local transport workers union produced hundreds of signs-- they say Tulsa has invested millions in tax money to support American Airlines.

Now, they believe the company is not being a good neighbor.

"We are just trying to get the public to be aware that they are trying to move these jobs out and we want to keep those jobs here in Tulsa.

American Airlines says no decision has been made. Besides, said a spokesperson, they've added 500 new jobs, since January.

The Chamber says American has been a good partner, regardless.

"Anytime we lose jobs, it's a bad thing for Tulsa. But the community has made significant investment in American Airlines, and in return American Airlines has made significant investment in Tulsa. They are the largest single location employer in Oklahoma and jobs are high paying, " said Jim Fram of the Tulsa Metro Chamber.

American also reportedly spends 80-million a year, with 160 Oklahoma vendors.

But still--it does not add up to these workers.

While the signs are at a standstill, they are waiting to pass them out--and plant them in the ground, along with a message,  save jobs.

American Airlines says they will continue to study the idea and do what is feasible for the company.
