Nowata Standoff Ends, Suspect Not In Custody

Posted: Updated:

A standoff in Nowata ends without the suspect in custody.

Sheriff deputies say it started after they tried to serve a warrant for concealing stolen property.

They had received a tip the suspect was at that location.

A standoff lasted three hours until SWAT teams moved in, launching tear gas into the house and catching a room on fire.

No one was in the home at the time, although the family that lives there has children.

Several agencies assisted, including Bartlesville Police and Washington County Sheriffs .

Channel 8 will update the story as information becomes available.
