Tulsa Beats North Texas In Final Non-Conference Game

Posted: Updated:

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane seemingly survived its September Gauntlet, playing three Top 5 schools, as they roll over North Texas 41-24 Saturday night.

QB G.J. Kinne was sharp, connecting on 20/31 for 314 yards and three touchdowns.  Once again, Bryan Burnham was Kinne's go-to receiver.

Burnham caught six balls for 101 yards and a score.

The TU defense was solid until the fourth quarter, when the Mean Green scored three touchdowns to pull within 17 points.

RB Lance Dunbar will sleep well on the bus ride back to Denton after carrying the ball 40 times for 127 yards and a score.

Tulsa has a bye week to shore up its defense before embarking on Conference USA play.  The Golden Hurricane host UAB on October 15th.  Kickoff for that game is at 7PM.
