Thunder's Sefolosha Signs With Turkish Team

Posted: Updated:

Oklahoma City guard Thabo Sefolosha has things lined out for what he will do during the impending NBA lockout.

Sefolosha signed with Turkish club Fenerbahce Tuesday and will fly to Istanbul Thursday. His signing came a day after the NBA announced that the first two weeks of the regular season have been canceled.

He joins Bojan Bogdanovic, a draft pick for the New Jersey Nets, who signed in June with Fenerbahce.

Sefolosha has played previously in Europe with Swiss teams Tege Riviera (2001-2003), Chalon-sur-Saône (2003-2005) and Italian team Angelico Biella from 2005-2006.

He was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the 2006 draft and was traded to the Thunder in 2009. Last season, Sefolosha started 79 games, averaging 5.1 points and 4.4 rebounds per game. He is the team's defensive stopper, usually drawing the opposition's top scorer to defend.

Sefolosha's deal with Fenerbahce includes an exit clause, allowing him to re-join the Thunder if the lockout ends.
