Oklahoma's leading rusher is out for the rest of the season after suffering a broken ankle on the first play from scrimmage in the Sooners' Saturday afternoon game at 8th-ranked Kansas State.
Dominique Whaley, a walk-on from Lawton, came into the game with 627 yards rushing in six games.
It's going to be a difficult final stretch for the Sooners without him. Last week, Whaley missed the game against Texas Tech because he was ill and the Sooners struggled without him, falling 41-38 and rushing for 124 yards.
That rushing total is deceiving. Roy Finch had a 93 yard run in the opening half, but outside of that carry, the Sooners rushed 24 times for 31 yards.
Oklahoma plays Texas A&M next week, then wraps up the season at Baylor, at home against Iowa State, then at third-ranked Oklahoma State on December third.
