OU Bounces Back With Big Win

Posted: Updated:

One week after a shocking home loss to Texas Tech, the Oklahoma Sooners were back to looking like one of the best teams in the nation on Saturday.

#9 OU walked into Bill Snyder Family Stadium in Manhattan, KS and left with a 59-17 demolishing of #8 Kansas State.

At one point, KSU was leading OU 17-14.  Then the Sooners reeled off 45 straight points on the Wildcats, lead by QB Landry Jones.

Jones threw for a school-record 505 yards, connecting on 5 TD passes.  That gives him 90 TD tosses for his career, also an OU record.

WR Ryan Broyles was behind 14 of those throws, gaining 171 yards and scoring a TD.

The defense was stellar as well, holding Kansas State to just 32 total yards in the second half.

The negative from the big win was the loss of RB Dominique Whaley, who is out for the season with a fractured left ankle suffered on the first play from scrimmage.

OU returns to Norman on Saturday, looking to start another home winning streak when they take on the Aggies of Texas A&M.
