OU Takes Step To Fill Lloyd Noble By Dropping Student Ticket Prices 72%

One of the things the OU men's basketball team has dealt with over the years is a less than full Lloyd Noble Center. But, the university is enticing students with an offer of season tickets for just 40 bucks.

Head coach Lon Kruger made the announcement Thursday. Student season tickets for men's games, which usually cost 140 dollars, are being decreased 72 percent to just 40 dollars for the 16-game schedule. The cost of single-game tickets has also been reduced to just five dollars.

The drop in ticket prices comes as a result of a student section title sponsorship, which was acquired by The Reserve on Stinson, which has also agreed to offer additional benefits to student ticket holders -- a $100 prize at each men's and women's game, an iPad giveaway at one men's and women's game and a night of Pizza Hut pizza at one men's and women's game.

"A loud and energetic student section is one of the most important ingredients to a team's success at home," said Kruger, who took over as head coach in April. "We have been on campus, talking to our students and we have heard them loud and clear that pricing is a challenge."

All students who have already committed to purchasing the season tickets for $140 will be charged $40 only and a special event for those students will be held in the coming weeks.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.soonersports.com.
