Oilers Rally For 4-3 Win Over Wichita

Posted: Updated:

Gary Steffes' powerplay goal with 5:23 remaining lifted the Tulsa Oilers to a 4-3 win over the Wichita Thunder Sunday at the BOK Center.

The Oilers (6-4-1) and Thunder were tied 2-2 after the first period, but Wichita took the lead when Daniel Tetrault scored with just over a minute to play in the second.

Rookie David Solway pulled the Oilers even midway through the third period, slapping home a rebound off a Michael Beausoleil shot, then later assisted on Steffes' game-winner.

Ian Keserich stopped 23 shots to pick up his sixth win of the season, allowing the Oilers to move into second place in the Berry Conference, just three points behind Wichita.

The same two teams will play again Friday, this time in Wichita.
