Kodi Maduka scored 16 points to help lead the University of Tulsa to a 65-49 win over Western Kentucky at the Charleston Classic Thursday afternoon in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Golden Hurricane (3-0) raced out to a 13-point halftime advantage thanks to limiting the Hilltoppers to just 30-percent shooting.

Tulsa trailed 7-2 early, but put together a 19-7 run over the next six minutes to lead by seven and end the first half with a 13-6 spurt to push the lead to 38-25.

Tulsa led by as many as 23 points in the second half.

Western Kentucky (1-2) was led by Kahlil McDonald, who scored all 13 of his points in the first half.

Tulsa will next play Friday against Northwestern, which defeated LSU 88-82 in the afternoon game. Friday's game will be played at 2:30 p.m. and can be seen on ESPNU.
