Posted: Updated:

Drew Crawford scored 20 of his 28 points in the first half as Northwestern defeated Tulsa 69-65 in the semifinal round of the Charleston Classic Friday afternoon.

The Golden Hurricane (3-1) led 28-24 with seven minutes left in the first half before the Wildcats scored eight straight to lead 32-28. Tulsa would regain a one-point lead moments later and the teams went to halftime tied at 37-37.

Northwestern (3-0) scored the first five points of the second half and, although the Golden Hurricane would rally to tie the game twice in the final 20 minutes, they'd never regain the lead.

Jordan Clarkson led the way for Tulsa with 16 points while Steven Idlet added 14 and D.J. Magley had 11.

Tulsa returns to action Tuesday with a game at Jackson State.
