TU Women Get First Win

Taleya Mayberry scored 27 points to lead the University of Tulsa to its first win of the season, 70-48 over Arkansas State Wednesday night at the Reynolds Center in Tulsa.

The Golden Hurricane (1-3) led just 31-25 with just over a minute remaining in the first half and it was an eight point lead early in the second half when TU used a 22-9 run to push the lead to 61-40 with 9:16 remaining on a Mayberry three-pointer.

The lead would grow to as many as 24 points late in the game.

Joining Mayberry in double figures for Tulsa was Taylor Hooker with 14 and Tiffani Cousinard, who had 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Quinishia McDowell led Arkansas State (1-2) with 18 points.

Tulsa gets a few days off before hosting Oral Roberts for the annual Mayor's Cup game on November 29th.
