Cowboys Move Up In BCS Standings, Sooners Drop

Stillwater -

Oklahoma State moved up a spot to third while OU, despite a 20-point win over Iowa State, dropped a spot to tenth in the latest BCS standings, released Sunday evening.

The Cowboys are behind top-ranked LSU and second-ranked Alabama, both of which won in impressive fashion Saturday -- LSU defeating then-number three Arkansas 41-17 and 'Bama knocking off 24th-ranked and in-state rival Auburn 42-to-14.

Oklahoma State had the weekend off in preparation for its showdown with Oklahoma, which defeated Iowa State 26-6 Saturday in Norman.

Virginia Tech and Stanford also moved up to fourth and fifth, respectively. Houston leapt Boise State into sixth after a 48-16 rout at Tulsa on Friday. After Boise, it's Arkansas, Oregon and OU.

There are games this week that could affect the BCS top ten. LSU plays in the SEC Championship against 14th-ranked Georgia, OSU plays OU, Virginia Tech plays No. 20 Clemson in the ACC Championship, Houston takes on No. 24 Southern Miss in the Conference USA Championship and Oregon plays unranked UCLA in the Pac 10 Championship.

Currently, it appears a rematch is in order for the BCS title game between LSU and Alabama. But, a win by OSU over the Sooners could make some voters change their minds and opt for a game that wouldn't feature a rematch.

Saturday's Bedlam game can be seen on Tulsa's Channel 8 beginning at 7 p.m.
