Not Enough -- Cowboys Left Outside Looking In

Stillwater -

The BCS rankings are out and not enough human voters or computers thought Oklahoma State's 44-10 thumping of Oklahoma Saturday night was enough to vault them past Alabama and into the national championship game.

The latest rankings had LSU the obvious number one. But, Alabama remained No 2 in the coaches and Harris polls and there while five of the six computer polls had the Cowboys number two, it wasn't enough in the end.

Alabama's BCS ranking was .9419 -- compared to .9333 for Oklahoma State.

What that means is we're going to see a rematch for the first time in BCS history. LSU will take on Alabama for the BCS National Championship on January 9th.

"We were very disappointed," said Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy. "We felt out team worked very hard, we had a tough loss but we did everything we could to make our case against Oklahoma."

Oklahoma State will play in the Fiesta Bowl against fourth-ranked Stanford January second in Tempe, Arizona.
