Cowboys Dominate Big 12 Awards

Oklahoma State put eight players on the All-Big 12 Conference First Team, the most of any team in the conference.

The Big 12 announced the awards Wednesday morning.

On offense, the Cowboys had the All-Big 12 wide receiver in Justin Blackmon, offensive linemen Levy Adcock and Grant Garner and place kicker Quinn Sharp.

On defense, defensive lineman Jamie Blatnick made the first team along with defensive backs Brodrick Brown and Markelle Martin. Sharp was also the All-Big 12 punter.

Garner was also named Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year and Sharp was the Special Teams Player of the Year.

After the Cowboys, Oklahoma had six selections, followed by Baylor, Texas and Kansas State with four and Iowa State and Missouri with two each.

Brandon Weeden was named to the All-Big 12 second team along with teammates Joseph Randle (RB), Kye Staley (FB) and Josh Cooper (WR).

Oklahoma State won its first outright Big 12 Conference title with a 44-10 win over OU on Saturday to finish the regular season 11-and-1. They will play Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl on January second.
