Chapel Hill, NC -

Days after his team won the Conference USA championship, former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator and current Southern Miss head coach Larry Fedora is on his way to North Carolina.

The Associated Press is reporting that Fedora will become the next Tar Heels head coach.

At Southern Mississippi, Fedora led the Golden Eagles to an 11-and-2 record this season and a 33-19 overall record in four seasons.

His team knocked off sixth-ranked and previously unbeaten Houston 49-28 in the C-USA championship game last weekend.

Fedora served as offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State from 2005 to 2007.
