Wichita State Rallies To Beat Tulsa

Posted: Updated:

Wichita State rallied from an eight point second half deficit to send Tulsa to its fourth straight loss, 77-67 Wednesday night at the Reynolds Center.

Tulsa (4-6) led 51-43 after a jumper by Tim Pete with 16:10 left in the game. But, Wichita State went on an 11-1 run over the next six minutes to take the lead.

Toure' Murry's lay-up with 8:19 remaining put the Shockers on top to stay.

The Golden Hurricane lost despite hitting 10-of-19 from three-point range. The Shockers countered with a 10-point advantage at the free throw line and a 34-24 edge in rebounding.

Clarkson and Scottie Haralson each scored 18 points to lead Tulsa. Peete added 12 and Steven Idlet scored 11.

Wichita State (6-2) was led by Murry's 17 points.

Tulsa will look to end the four game skid when it returns to action at home against UT-Arlington on December 17th.
