OKLAHOMA CITY -- The Ramada All-College Classic turned into the Steven Pledger showcase Saturday evening at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.
Pledger's 31 points led all scoring as Oklahoma knocks off Houston 79-74.
Pledger shot an impressive 10 of 13 from the floor, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range.
The Sooners' 8-1 start is the best since 2008-2009. That was Blake Griffin's final season in Norman.
There was a scare for OU though when Houston opened the second half with an early 12-0 run which gave the Cougars a nine point lead.
The Sooners retook the lead with 5:04 remaining and never trailed again.
