Norman -
The Oklahoma Sooners will be without yet another player for their upcoming bowl game against Iowa.
Head coach Bob Stoops announced Monday that defensive end Ronnell Lewis will not be available for the Insight Bowl due to academic problems.
Lewis missed the last two games of the season with a knee injury, but it was hoped the junior from Dewar would be ready to go when the Sooners play Iowa on December 30th.
Stoops also said it's very likely that Lewis has played his last game in a Sooner uniform.
"We have discussed it and I have encouraged him to go on to the NFL," Stoops said Monday.
Lewis was a first-team All-Big 12 selection after recording 59 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and five and a half sacks. He also had an interception, forced a fumble and recovered another.
In addition, the Sooners will be without wide receiver Jaz Reynolds and Brandon Williams. Reynolds is suffering from an injury and Williams was granted his release from the team and is planning to transfer.
