Norman -
The Oklahoma Sooners have received a verbal commitment from a California high schooler.
According to Sooners Illustrated, tight end Taylor McNamara picked the Sooners on Wednesday. The 6'5", 235-pounder from Westview High School in San Diego, California.
McNamara made his official visit to Norman on December 16th.
He's the 19th best tight end prospect in the country according to Scout.com and also has offers from Arizona, California, Colorado, Miami (FL), Stanford, UCLA, USC and Washington.
The Sooners are looking to bolster the tight end position with the graduations of James Hanna and Trent Ratterree, the decision of Austin Haywood to leave the program and the loss of Max Stevenson to a career-ending injury.
OU also picked up a commitment earlier this month from junior college tight end Brannon Green from Fort Scott Community College.
