Stillwater -
A FoxSports.com report indicates that Oklahoma State has self-reported minor violations and is looking into possible other violations involving a Perkins man.
The report claims 40-year-old Gannon Mendez is refusing to cooperate with Kevin Fite, Oklahoma State's associate athletics director of compliance.
One of the violations the report claims has been self-reported by the university is that Mendez bought a five-dollar drink for a player, a secondary violation. The other self-reported violation involved players selling video game systems received as gifts at last year's Alamo Bowl.
But, the FoxSports.com report says what OSU has been attempting to investigate are claims that receivers Justin Blackmon and Hubert Anyiam and former running back Kendall Hunter attended a party for Mendez's step-daughter, signing autographs and splitting profits from the sale of them.
Fite told FoxSports.com Blackmon and Anyiam were interviewed about the party and that they admitted being there, but denied any wrongdoing.
Another claim in the report indicates Mendez was "heavily involved" in football players selling guest passes to the 2010 Cotton Bowl.
A Google search conducted by ktul.com for the name Gannon Mendez turned up an interesting find on Oklahoma State's website. A page indicates that Becky Mendez, who it said was married to Gannon Mendez, served as Oklahoma State's director of women's basketball operations.
Becky Mendez later went on to become an assistant coach at Fresno State.
