Oklahoma State quarterback Brandon Weeden played minor league based ball for five seasons. He played one summer with a guy named Jordan Pratt. The two were pitchers with the Columbus Catfish.
It's been years since they last talked with each other, but they will be reunited Monday night in the Fiesta Bowl. Pratt is a freshman receiver for the Stanford Cardinal.
Jordan is a 26-year-old freshman. Weeden says he's really going to take some grief about his age by the time he graduates. Jordan credits Brandon for helping him chase his own football dream. He says watching Brandon succeed has motivated him though his freshman year.
The guys used to toss the football around when they weren't firing a baseball toward home plate. A couple of times they even talked about playing football in the future.
Jordan said people would over hear them talking about football and would laugh and say "You guys can't play major college football."
It looks like Weeden at least is having the last laugh. He's projected to be a third round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. He go higher if he wasn't 28-years-old.
