A high school running back who has offers from 16 Division I schools says he's narrowed his choices to two.
According to Scout.com, David Smith, a running back at Bremen High School in Midlothian, Illinois, has interest in the Oklahoma Sooners and West Virginia Mountaineers.
The 6'1", 196-pound running back is rated a three-star prospect by Scout and the 39th best running back prospect in the country. As a junior, he rushed for more than one-thousand yards and 13 touchdowns, averaging nearly ten yards per carry.
Smith told the Chicago Tribune he received a scholarship offer from the Sooners last week and is expected to take his official visit to Norman this weekend.
He's expected to make his decision January 16th.
Smith also has offers from Arizona, Boston College, Central Michigan, Illinois, Illinois State, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northern Illinois, Oregon State, Purdue, Toledo and Western Michigan.
