It's the worst kept secret on the planet. But, the University of Oklahoma is set to announce that Mike Stoops is coming back to the Sooners this afternoon.
In a statement to KTUL.com, Assistant Director of Communications David Bassity says the University should make it official this afternoon.
Bassity also said there should be word about the status of defensive backs coach Willie Martinez, who is rumored to be a candidate for at least two defensive coordinator jobs.
Mike Stoops, the brother of OU head coach Bob Stoops, was fired as head coach at Arizona after a 1-and-5 start this season. In eight seasons in Arizona, he was 41-and-49.
Mike was defensive coordinator at OU from 1999 to 2003 before taking the gig in Tucson.
