Team Members Remember Donnie Ray Crawford

Posted: Updated:

The news hit the racing community hard about Donnie Ray Crawford. They dropped off flowers and left messages for the family. Some couldn't hide their emotions and everyone says Donnie Ray was like no one else.

"He is the nicest person you will meet. He will do anything for you. Help you out if you need anything and he is great driver on top of that," says Blake Hahn, Donnie Ray's teammate.

"He came into my life and right away I knew this guy was a stand up guy, from a good family, loving people, he always cared was available to give an autograph at a moments notice," says car owner, Jon Kantor.

Some of the team members have grown up with the Crawford family and say it hit them hard that Donnie Ray won't have the life he was heading for.

"It really does. It set in a couple of hours ago, that tomorrow he was leaving Tulsa to go to Norman to start his college and he would have never been in this situation if you know whatever reasons," says team manager, Greg McCord.

McCord says the best thing he ever did was hire Donnie Ray for their team and he can't believe this has happen to such a legendary racing family.

"This is the hardest thing, I have ever had to go through. I have lost friends and families but the whole Crawford family is such good people. That I can't believe something like this would happen to them," says McCord.
