Tulsa Outlasts Tulane, Wins Third Straight

Posted: Updated:

The University of Tulsa men's basketball team earned a 60-56 victory over Conference USA foe Tulane Wednesday night in front of 4,108 fans at Donald W. Reynolds Center.

Sophomore guard Jordan Clarkson led the way with a game-high 16 points for Tulsa (10-9, 3-2 C-USA), who is now riding a three-game win streak. Tulane (12-6, 0-4 C-USA) was led by Ricky Tarrant's 15 points.

Senior center Steven Idlet came off the bench to tally 13 points, six rebounds and five blocks in 28 minutes. He also knocked down his second three-pointer of the season, while junior guard Scottie Haralson dropped 12 points.

Tulsa shot 41 percent from the field and converted 14-of-15 free throws. The .933 percentage from the charity stripe was the second-best of the Doug Wojcik era (7-for-7 against Oklahoma on Dec. 5, 2007).

TU also tied a season high with 12 blocks, led by five each from Idlet and sophomore forward Kodi Maduka. Maduka also scored seven points and hauled in five rebounds.

Next up for Tulsa will be a trip to Houston for a 7 p.m. meeting on Jan. 21 with Rice.
