Cowboys Lose Heartbreaker At Iowa State

Posted: Updated:

Exactly two months ago, the Iowa State Cyclones broke the hearts of the OSU Football faithful, beating the Cowboys in overtime.  It was the only loss of the season for the 'Pokes.

History has a way of repeating itself.

The Cyclones used a buzzer-beating three by Scott Christopherson to stun the Cowboys in Aimes, 71-68.  The Cowboys had a lead with under a minute to play, but ISU hit a three-pointer to tie the game.

A turnover by Markel Brown gave the Cyclones the ball with just under :10 to play, and Christopherson would capitalize.

Le'Bryan Nash had a standout game, scoring 21 points.  At one point, early in the second half, Nash accounted for 11 straight OSU points.

Former Elite 8 winner Keiton Page also scored 21, hitting on 5 of 8 three-pointers.

Two Cyclones lead the way with 17 points a piece, Royce White and Christopherson.

The Cowboys return to the court Saturday, when they host No. 25 Kansas State.
