Tulsa -
Union and Jenks have dominated Oklahoma high school football for the past 16 years. Now, they'll head across the Red River to battle some Texas giants next year.
Union head coach Kirk Fridrich confirmed to Tulsa's Channel 8 that the team is in preliminary negotiations to play Euless Trinity in week two, September eighth.
Trinity has won the Texas Class 5A state championship three times since 2005 and was runner-up in 2010.
The Jenks Trojans are also scheduled to play on September 8th against the DeSoto Eagles, Jenks head coach Allan Trimble told Channel 8's John Moss.
Trimble says Jenks will play at 4 p.m. while Union will play the nightcap, likely at 7:30 p.m.
Trimble says in 2013, the teams will play again, with Euless Trinity playing Jenks and DeSoto playing Union.
The teams will play the games at Trinity Euless' Pennington Field.
