Woman Charged In October Fatality Crash

A Sand Springs woman has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a crash that killed another woman in late October.

Court records show that 47-year-old Marcia Lynn Rainey of Sand Springs was charged with one count of first-degree manslaughter and one count of driving while impaired.

The crash happened October 23rd on Highway 97 near Sapulpa. Troopers said the victim, 45-year-old Shelly Renae Vanbeber, was next to her car, which had been disabled in a previous accident when Rainey struck the car.

Vanbeber was pronounced dead at the scene while a passenger in Rainey's pickup truck, was treated at the scene for a head injury.
