Two young men are hoping to break a world record this weekend right here in Tulsa.
Brock Turner and Alex Workman of the Tulsa Rowing Club plans to use a row machine starting at 5 p.m. Friday and row continuously until Sunday afternoon.
Turner is hoping to do break the current record by doing it for 40 hours.
He's allowed 10 minute breaks every hour. He says he'll use those breaks to use the restroom, eat and drink.
Turner is already preparing for the challenge by getting lots of sleep and loading up on carbs and water.
He's hoping he doesn't get bored during his attempt at the record.
"On water would be much more fun because the scenery would change," says Turner. "But I'm just gonna be sitting outside when the weather is good or sitting in the room at night...watching movies and rowing."
His teammate Workman will try to row for 28 hours in order to set a record in the lightweight division.
It's all part of a fundraising event this weekend to help the team raise money for equipment and travel.
They hope to travel to the United Kingdom this summer to compete in the regatta championships, which is like the "Super Bowl" of the sport.
