Two young men who appear to be going nowhere are actually rowing their way towards world records in that sport.
Alex Workman and Brock Turner set out Friday afternoon to accomplish the feat at the Tulsa Rowing Club's on the west bank of the Arkansas River. They're on machines and not paddling through the water.
As of this posting, they've been rowing for nearly 24-straight hours. Alex is hoping to break the record for his age group in the lightweight class. He's on course to do so by 9:16 p.m. Saturday night.
His counterpart, Brock, plans to steam right past the current record in his age group of 36 hours.
He'll surpass that around 5:00am Sunday, and meet his personal goal four hours later.
To pass the time, Turner says he watches movies while he rows.
Their efforts are also part of a fundrasing event for the Tulsa Junior Rowing Club.
