Trisha Yearwood Announces New Show On Food Network

Award winning country musician, author and now TV chef?

Trisha Yearwood, author of two wildly popular cookbooks, announced Monday she will have her own show on the Food Network.

Yearwood, who now calls Owasso home, will record six themed episodes, sharing her favorite recipes and family stories. It's not her first foray into television. Yearwood played a recurring role on CBS's JAG and also made a guest appearance on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.

The new gig doesn't mean music is behind her, though. The Grammy Award winning country artist said on her Facebook page she is also working on a new record, so she's keeping very busy.

Yearwood released her first cookbook in 2008, entitled "Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen" and followed it up with 2010's "Home Cooking with Trisha Yearwood."

Trisha has earned dozens of country music awards, including three Grammy Awards -- 1995's Best Country Collaboration for "I Fall To Pieces" with Aaron Neville and two in 1998 -- Best Female Country Vocal Performance for "How Do I Live" and Best Country Collaboration for "In Another's Eyes" with husband Garth Brooks.
