GMO "Mornings on Main Street" Mingles in McAlester

McAlester -

Good Morning Oklahoma took a step back in time and danced its way over to McAlester this morning, setting up shop in Angels Diner.

The 50s-themed joint welcomed Laura Moss, Keith Taylor and the GMO crew with a live band, chicken fried steak, banana pudding and pancakes.

Some nuggets you may not know about McAlester -- the town has a rich Italian heritage and people from all over head there to enjoy the food, Mayor Kevin Priddle is a mean guitar player and provided our morning entertainment with the Sunset band, and life-sized concrete buffalo are cropping up all around town, thanks to Bob Wallace's pet project.

Free coffee was flowing all morning long and Judi Thomas of Sand Springs walked away with a free 19-inch LCD TV by answering a trivia question.

Angels Diner sits on Highway 69, right next to Happy Days Hotel -- another 50s-themed place.

You can catch the crew bright and early Monday at Burkes Kenosha Cafe on 1402 West Kenosha St. in Broken Arrow for another installment of "Mornings on Main Street."
