Prayer Walk Sunday: Near Broken Arrow Casino Work Site

Posted: Updated:

Some folks in Broken Arrow are hoping to "pray away" an Indian Casino.

Construction by the Kialegee Tribe has already begun at Olive and Florence.

Many neighbors are upset about the possibility.

They've held several protests and meetings to stop the Red Clay Casino.

And now they're turning to the power of prayer.

On Sunday-- churches from Broken Arrow, Bixby, Jenks and Tulsa will take part in a prayer walk.

They're worried about the casino's effect on neighborhoods, churches and schools.

They're praying for several things including the good of the Kialegee people, all communities facing such developments, for the wisdom and courage of influential authorities, the positive and proper exercise of sovereign rights, and for anyone hurting from losses due to gaming

Participants should arrive by 2:30.  The prayer walk starts at 3pm all around the work site.

Organizers say, this is not a protest. So leave your posters and banners at home.

Parking is available north of the casino construction site at Tulsa Technology Center, Abiding Harvest Church or in nearby neighborhoods.
