A wrong way driver caused a multi-car crash and a double fatality on the Turner Turnpike around 3:45 Saturday afternoon.

It happened on the east bound side, around mile marker 217 near US Highway 66.

"A wrong way driver struck a vehicle head on, west bound in the east bound traffic lanes," says Lieutenant George Brown, with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol. "Two people are confirmed dead and there are four vehicles involved in the collision with multiple people injured."

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has identified the driver of the wrong way vehicle, he's listed as Gregory Preston Gilcrease, 55, of Sapulpa. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Troopers on scene told KTUL.com that they believe the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

The other victim of the crash has been identified as 25 year-old Andy Gabrielson of Luverne, Minnesota. Gabrielson had been on his way back home from chasing storms in North Texas on Friday.

Gabrielson had been the subject of a feature story on a Dallas television station, Friday night. Gabrielson told WFAA-TV that he had a lifelong interest in meteorology.

Gabrielson spent many years chasing for the ABC affiliate station in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. One of his storm-chasing videos earned him an Emmy in 2011.

Gabrielson leaves behind a young child.
