Lawmakers Speak Out Against Proposed Casino In BA

Posted: Updated:

The battle to stop a Broken Arrow casino wages on this weekend.

Saturday, state leaders held a Republican Precinct Meeting.

Elected leaders serving Broken Arrow were invited to take part.

Congressman Sullivan is working to get the casino development stopped.

Sullivan says he will introduce legislation hoping to close a loophole to prevent this from happening in the future.

Broken Arrow residents were out canvassing the neighborhood hoping to gain support in their opposition to the Red Clay Casino.

Congressman John Sullivan spoke out saying they sent a letter out to the Department of the Interior, but have yet to year from the tribe.

Broken Arrow neighbors have been canvassing the neighborhood to voice their opposition as well.

Sunday, churches from Tulsa, Jenks, Bixby and Broken Arrow will do a prayer walk.

They will be praying for the good of the Kialegee people, the community facing the development, wisdom and courage for authorities, and those facing gambling addiction.

The walk starts at 3 p.m. around the work site.
