Plan Ahead, Tulsans: I-244 Project Starts Today

Posted: Updated:
Tulsa -

Your Monday morning commute -- and your commute for the next 14 months -- may take a little longer as the I-244 project gets underway in Tulsa.

The left lane and inside shoulder of eastbound I-244 will be closed from just west of Memorial Dr. to the US-169 junction starting at 7 a.m. Monday.

It's part of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation's $35 million bridge and pavement rehabilitation project.

It is scheduled to take about 14 months to finish.

The Broken Arrow Expressway will also see some closures tomorrow.

The left lane of SH-51 will shut between 9th St. and the Muskogee Turnpike from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day until Friday for a lighting project.
