Two suspects who led troopers on a chase at speeds of more than 100 miles per hour are spending the evening behind bars, and police say they believe the suspects are responsible for a string of home invasions.

The pursuit began shortly after four o'clock along the Creek Turnpike near 71st Street in Broken Arrow. A trooper clocked the suspect vehicle traveling 88 miles per hour in a 70 mile per hour zone and tried to stop the driver.

Instead, the driver fled northbound on the turnpike, driving into oncoming traffic and passing other cars dangerously on the shoulder. At one point, the trooper clocked the suspect vehicle traveling 102 miles per hour.

The pursuit continued to Highway 266 just north of the Port of Catoosa where the trooper performed what is called a Tactical Vehicle Intervention to bring the chase to an end. The two people inside the car tried to run from the car, but were immediately taken into custody.

Arrested were 23-year-old John Wesley Brown and 24-year-old Amber Dawn Howard, both of Tulsa. Both were turned over to Tulsa police to be booked on multiple charges.
