Troopers say a Claremore man was injured after he fell asleep at the wheel and ran off a Rogers County highway.

It happened at about 5:15 a.m. Saturday morning on State Highway 266 near Catoosa.

Troopers say 38-year-old Warren Bounds of Claremore was westbound on the highway when he fell asleep, crossed the center line, ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

Bounds was taken by ambulance to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa with multiple injuries and admitted in stable condition.

Troopers say Bounds was wearing a seat belt and that his airbag deployed.
