A Freezing Fog Advisory is in effect for a good portion of northern, northwestern and central Oklahoma.

Thick fog and temperatures below freezing are creating dangerous driving conditions on area highways.

Visibility in the Tulsa area is near zero at times.  The thick fog and the below freezing temperatures are creating a glaze of ice on bridges and overpass.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol officers have responded to 10 wrecks in the Tulsa metro area this morning. One person was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

Highway 169 at 106th street north was closed for a short time due to several cars sliding off the highway.

ODOT has since treated the highway and it is back open.

Other wrecks have been reported on Hwy. 75 at 146th North and 106th St. North on Hwy. 75.

Drivers are urged to take extra time and drive with caution.

Meteorologist Mike Collier says to expect the fog to burn off by late morning.

The advisory is set to expire at 10 a.m. today.
