The highly touted Sooner recruiting class was on display Friday afternoon as the No. 14 Oklahoma baseball team opened the 2012 season with a 4-3 win at Pepperdine.
Oklahoma fell behind quickly 2-0 behind sophomore Dillon Overton, but
bounced back with two runs in the fourth inning courtesy of a pair of
two-out RBI singles by freshman catcher Hunter Lockwood and sophomore
Matt Oberste, a junior college transfer from Connors State.
OU won its fourth straight season opener behind the bats of
Carey, Lockwood and Oberste, which combined for six of the Sooners' 12
hits on the afternoon.
The Sooners and Waves continue the three-game series Saturday at 1
p.m. PT at Eddy D. Field Stadium.
