Could ORU Lose Scott Sutton To Tulsa?

Posted: Updated:

Over the years, ORU Head Basketball Coach Scott Sutton has had several opportunities to leave Oral Roberts for other jobs.  But he's turned down all of them.

After 17-years with the Golden Eagles he may have to make one of his toughest decisions yet.

If the University of Tulsa comes calling, will he be able to say no?  I asked him this afternoon if he could see himself moving across town to TU. He said he didn't know.  But he said Tulsa was a good job and so was his job at ORU.

Right now Coach Sutton is trying to get his team ready to face Nevada in the first round of the NIT.

Like ORU, the Wolf Pack were hoping for the NCAA Tournament.  They won the WAC regular season title but got upset in the conference tourney.

For the Golden Eagles, it was hard to get over their disappointment, but the goal of making it to the NIT Final Four at Madison Square Garden helped.

Their first step to New York begins Wednesday night at the Mabee Center.  Tip-off is set for 8:15pm.
