Bishop Kelley's Frazier Solid, But Drillers Fall To Cardinals

Posted: Updated:

Like his previous two starts, Drillers pitcher Parker Frazier gives a quality performance for Tulsa. But the Springfield Cardinals win 3-1, dealing Frazier his first loss in Class AA.

Frazier has thrown 6 complete innings in each of his three starts; giving up no earned runs in his Drillers debut, 2 at home against San Antonio, then 3 Friday evening.

Frazier surrendered 7 hits in the loss while striking out 4.

Springfield's Jose Taveras proved to be the biggest threat against Frazier, batting in 2 of the team's 3 runs.

After an RBI single in the first, Taveras followed up with a solo home run in his next at-bat.

The Drillers scored 1 in the top of the ninth on a Lars Davis RBI double to bring home Mike Zuanich.

Springfield has outscored Tulsa in their two meetings 9-1. The third game of the four-game series is Saturday at 2:08 p.m.
