Bowling, who was promoted from offensive coordinator to head coach at East Central in late February, was arrested at about 3:15 a.m., jail booking records show.
He was booked on a complaint of driving under the influence/actual physical control (alcohol only) and was released after posting bond at about 8:30 a.m.
Jail records show his next court date is scheduled for April 25th.
Bowling succeeded Travis Hill, who resigned in December. He's been on the Cardinals' staff since 2009 and has also held coaching positions at Jenks and Muskogee.
Prior to coaching, Bowling was a standout quarterback at Jenks High School, Oklahoma State and for the Arena League's Tulsa Talons.
