A Claremore teacher was arrested Monday for public intoxication on the job.

44-year-old Sherri Lea Fernandez reportedly had slurred speech during class.

Officer Massengale of the Rogers County Sheriff's Office could not confirm whether Fernandez was under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or prescription drugs.

Claremore School Superintendent Mike McClaren told KTUL.com that Fernandez is a teacher at Will Rogers Junior High School in Claremore.

Fernandez made bail at the Rogers County Jail three hours after her arrest.

Massengale confirmed that Fernandez will be arraigned on May 24th.
