Charlotte, NC -
Former OU defensive lineman Frank Alexander has signed his rookie deal with the Carolina Panthers.
Alexander, who was selected in the fourth round of last month's NFL Draft, agreed to a four-year contract. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.
Alexander was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year in 2011, making 54 tackles including a Big 12 leading 19 for loss. He also led the conference with eight and a half sacks. He also returned a fumble for a touchdown against Texas and had his first career interception in the win over Tulsa.
Alexander was named to the Walter Camp All-America second team, a Hendricks Award finalist and was the Big 12 Defensive Lineman of the Year.
