A sophomore cornerback from the University of Arizona is following former head coaches Mike Stoops and Tim Kish to Norman.

In a news release Monday, Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops announced Cortez Johnson is joining the team. Cortez, who will be a sophomore after sitting out the upcoming season under NCAA transfer rules, played in eight games at Arizona last season as a freshman.

Johnson recorded 16 tackles with the Wildcats in 2011.

Mike Stoops was head coach at Arizona for seven seasons before being fired last October. He rejoined the Sooners in January as defensive coordinator.

Kish served as interim head coach at Arizona before taking a position with OU as linebackers coach.
