Whether it's the chimps or the turtles or the rhino or the elephant.....it's difficult to choose your favorite animal at the Tulsa Zoo, just ask Christina.
"Every single animal is my favorite at the zoo."
Christina is in kindergarten and six years old.
"I almost put seven up, but then I thought I'm not seven."
A degenerative muscle disease in her legs put Christina in a wheelchair full time. She requires occupational and physical therapy. She says sometimes other kids ask her about the wheelchair.
"they ask me, why are you in a wheelchair....What do you say? Well, sometimes I say I don't want to talk about it."
The disease may have touched her muscles, but it hasn't touched her mind or her heart. Her faith is strong, she is a Christian and one of the first things she wants to read, when she learns....is the bible.
"I think the important thing about the bible is about Jesus dying on the cross, it's an important thing."
Christina is a very social young girl who loves to play with friends and gets along very well with others. It's very important her forever home has two parents and a stay at home mom. Christina will sometime pray for parents.....just not in the morning.
"I don't think I pray in the mornings because I don't have enough time....Pretty Busy huh? I need to get up and ready for school."
She also wants a family with kids. Her current foster family has a number of children, a situation Christina loves.
"what's that like? I don't know. It's fun, I think it feels like I'm dreaming....Is it a good dream? Yes. (laughs)"
