Today is World MS Day!
More than 70 countries across the globe have declared today "World MS Day 2012" in an effort to raise awareness for the disease. MS, or Multiple Sclerosis, impacts over 2.1 million people world wide. Here in Oklahoma, an estimated 3,400 people are living with the disease.
MS is an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system that affects each person in a different way.
The National MS Society encourages people to join the global movement that is raising critical awareness about MS. Today is a day to volunteer, bike, walk, advocate, educate, and support the fight against this disease. To hear how other countries are participating and to get involved yourself visit msconnection.org or worldmsday.org.
