What is the greatest achievement on your bike? As a large statured person racing against the best, every time I make it over a climb with those little guys, it's my latest greatest achievement.
Best food or drink before a ride? Water
Favorite food or drink after a ride? Guinness.
Worst Spill Ever: The first Tulsa Tough was my first race ever. I went over my handle bars up by Cain's Ballroom and had to have asphalt dug out of my elbow and got a tetanus shot. That was the day I got hooked on bike racing.
Secrets to Saint Francis Tulsa Tough: As one of the promoters of the event, I am on my feet all day in the heat working, while my competition is napping and hydrating. Typically about 2 hours before my race I try to sneak off, take a 30 minute nap and chug some water. I'm just happy I get to race.
Training miles per week: Depends on the time of year, but typically 200.
Favorite training ride (places, roads, etc): I love riding out around Skiatook Dam.
Favorite thing about Saint Francis Tulsa Tough: It turns my hometown into one bike-crazy, healthy lifestyle loving place -- even if just for a short while. It shows what's possible and breaks the rules.
